2019 Yonex Canadian University & College Team/Individual Championships

The 2019 Yonex Canadian University & College Championships were held in Drummondville, Quebec from March 22-24th, 2019.
The 2019 Yonex Canadian University & College Team/Individual Championships were held in Drummondville, Quebec from March 22-24, 2019. The event was hosted over the weekend at both the CEGEP de Drummondville and Centre Communautaire Pierre-Lemaire, and showcased a variety of Canada’s top student-athletes from around the country.
In the Team Event, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues swept through the rest of the competition; defeating in Montreal and Waterloo, 4-1, in pool play, before topping Western 3-1 in the semifinals and Laval 3-0 in the final to take home the national title in dominant fashion. The University of Waterloo finished the championship with bronze, while the University of Western was just behind them in 4th.

The Championships also saw the play of an Individual Event composed of 120 student athletes from over 20 schools! After a long and tough weekend of competition in both events, the Championship concluded with crowning the 2019 University/College National Champions!

At the conclusion of the 2019 Yonex Canadian University & College Team/Individual Championships two fair play awards were awarded to one male & female athlete determined by the technical officials who best exemplified sportsmanship thorughout the competition. The 2019 winners of this award are:
Male – Sean McGowan (University of Western Ontario Mustangs)
Female – Beatrice Guay (University of Laval Rouge et Or)
