YONEX Canada Open 2024 is set to Kick Off at WinSport Event Center

Calgary, Alberta, is once again the stage of North America's Premier Badminton Event.

As the countdown to the Paris Olympics accelerates, the global badminton community is excited for a thrilling spectacle at the Yonex Canada Open 2024. The tournament is scheduled from July 2nd to July 7th, 2024, at the WinSport Event Center in Canada Olympic Park, Calgary, Alberta.

 

With 275 athletes from 33 nations, including 39 Olympians, converging to vie for a prestigious USD 420,000 prize pool, the YONEX Canada Open 2024 boasts one of its most competitive lineups in history. This marquee event is a pivotal preparatory platform for the upcoming Paris Olympics and underscores its status as North America's foremost badminton.

 

Representing Canada at the forefront are distinguished Olympians and local favourites:

- Michelle Li, a four-time Canada Open champion and veteran of four Olympic Games in Women’s Singles.

- Brian Yang, a two-time Olympian renowned in Men’s Singles.

- Nyl Yakura brings his prowess as a two-time Olympian in Men’s Doubles.

- Adam Dong, a promising newcomer, primed for his debut in Men’s Doubles at the Paris Olympics.

To promote badminton within Calgary, the YONEX Canada Open 2024 invites everyone to experience the thrill firsthand during Community Day on July 2nd, 2024. From 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, spectators can witness gripping matches on all four main courts, featuring aspiring local athletes striving to qualify for the main event across all disciplines. The day will culminate with a Round of 32 Men’s and Women’s Doubles matches, promising action-packed entertainment for all ages.

 

As the excitement builds throughout the week, the climax awaits on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, with the finals of all five events commencing at 10:00 AM. Various ticket packages are available, catering to diverse preferences and ensuring an unforgettable spectator experience.
