Badminton is one of Canada's most widely developed sports and the seventh most played sport among Canadian youth. Badminton Canada is a National Sports Organization that offers equal access to the sport, promotes success for coaches and athletes at major international events, and supports creating and maintaining clearly articulated progressive athlete development pathways. 

It costs approximately 4,000 CAD for one badminton athlete to attend one international-level tournament, crucial for elevating their world ranking and competing at the Olympics and Paralympics. Athletes also need to pay for food and ground transportation for each event. In addition to travel, meals, and accommodation fees, athletes and coaches must also cover training, coaching, equipment, and other competition expenses.

"We are like many other national sports organizations, and we struggle to find the funding to support these athletes in their Olympic and Paralympic journeys and beyond properly. We're asking the Badminton community to step up and offer donations to support Able body and Para athletes in their Olympic and Paralympic beyond dreams", Said Bryan Merret, Badminton Canada's Executive Director. "We know that you can help them with a small donation, which will be used in various ways as they prepare for Paris and potentially the next Olympic and Paralympic Games in LA 2028".
