Badminton Canada Mourns the Loss of Kevin Willington
(Ottawa, ON) - Badminton Canada is shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Kevin Willington on April 19. Badminton Canada was made aware of the tragic circumstances surrounding his passing with sadness and grief. Kevin was deeply ingrained in the badminton across the country, working with Badminton Canada and many provincial badminton organizations.

Kevin devoted himself to mentoring hundreds of coaches in Ontario and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on the sport nationwide through his work as a coach developer and with his knowledge of the game. His commitment and expertise were evident as he worked closely with Badminton Canada on several initiatives, right up to his passing, leaving a legacy that extended far beyond his tenure.
In 2023, Kevin's dedication was duly recognized when the Coaching Association of Canada honored him for his exceptional contributions to the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), where he tirelessly imparted badminton-specific training to fellow coaches.
As a prominent figure at the Ottawa West Badminton Club, Kevin was a key champion in leading various projects and initiatives, showcasing his unwavering passion and dedication to the sport.
