 2015/16 Competition Schedule

Ottawa ON. – Badminton Canada announced the competition schedule for the 2015/2016 season. Highlights of the season include the following:

  • Yonex Canada Kick-Off Weekend with both the junior and senior series starting September 25th in Saskatoon and Quebec City respectively.
  • The addition of a BWF sanction junior international event in Calgary AB with a $15,000 prize purse.
  • A total of 11 Yonex National Circuit events (Junior and Senior)
  • The Badminton Canada Senior National Championship in Winnipeg MB
  • The Badminton Canada University/College National Championship in Quebec City QC
  • The Badminton Canada Masters National Championship in Halifax NS
  • The Badminton Canada U23/Junior National Championship in Moncton NB
  • The Yonex Canada Open in Calgary  AB June 2016

“The 2015/2016 Competition schedule is a full and robust calendar this year.” indicated Anil Kaul, President of Badminton Canada. “We are pleased to be able to enhance this year schedule with the kick-off weekend as well as the addition of the Junior International event in Calgary.”

“The hosting of 15 national level events and 2 international events is only possible with the firm commitment and support of our provincial badminton organizations.” added Joe Morissette, Executive Director of Badminton Canada.  “We thank them for their continued support and investment in these events.”
