TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS


*CONDITIONS
The competition is open to all athletes who are registered members in good standing with their provincial or territorial association.


Athletes must be a Canadian citizen (verifiable by passport or birth certificate) or be a landed immigrant and have been a permanent resident of Canada for a minimum of 12 months (verifiable by permanent resident card) and must not have played in any badminton championships restricted to another country within one calendar year of the date of the event.

*EVENTS
Under 15 (Born in 2001 or later) – Boy’s Singles, Boy’s Doubles, Girl’s Singles, Girl’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
 

Under 17 (Born in 1999 or later) - Boy’s Singles, Boy’s Doubles, Girl’s Singles, Girl’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
 

Under 19 (Born in 1996 or later) - Boy’s Singles, Boy’s Doubles, Girl’s Singles, Girl’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
 

Under 23 (Born in 1992 or later) - Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.


Consolations will be held for all competitors defeated in their first round match of the main event. It will be the responsibility of each athlete to notify the draw desk, within 30-minutes of their opening round defeat.

Tournament Entry Fee of $140.00 includes:
- All shuttles during tournament play
- Participation in up to three events, maximum of one singles, one doubles and one mixed doubles event
- Opening Ceremonies & Athlete’s Banquet (Buffet @ Canad Inns Fort Garry)

- Medals & Prizes

Unpaid entries will not be included in the draws. 
Entries received via mail, fax or regular email will not be accepted.
LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

ND SHUTTLES

Awards will be provided to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Consolation Winners
Official shuttle will be YONEX feather shuttle. Shuttles will be provided for all matches.

 

*SEEDING
Seedings are provided by the Badminton Canada tournament seeding committee and scheduled to be published April 14th with Draws published April 21st.
 

*RULES
The 21- Rally Point scoring format will be utilized. Three-minute warm-up and ten minute default will be strictly enforced. BWF regulations for International events respecting the colour of clothing will apply, see Section 19 and 20.1, 20.3.1, and 20.4.1: http://www.bwfbadminton.org/file.aspx?id=524457&dl=1
The use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play.
